ABOUT AAJ
If you are reading this - first and foremost, thank you for making it here; it likely means you are supporting me. I go by AAJ, my pen name, but many would likely know me simply as Abhi - I am a novelist and writer of Literary Fiction.
What is Literary Fiction, you may wonder? Literary Fiction, to me, is fiction that is Art in itself, it’s work of artistic merit. And ultimately, it’s work of significant depth - it’s work that explores what it means to be human. A Latin phrase underpins all of what I write - Memento Mori - and this encapsulates the meaning of my work. Perhaps it’s narcissistic to call one’s own work Literary Art, but my writing does not fit into traditional genre conventions. For example, my debut novel, The Tech-Night 1.0, is not merely a science-fiction novel - it’s an exploration of the human condition.
I have been writing since the year 2020, and have since been unable to stop writing; writing has become an insatiable and fulfilling modus operandi - a way of living. It is my purpose in life, and I would define Writing as my Ikigai (a Japanese concept that defines one’s life's purpose).
Born and brought up in London, I did not choose to become a writer, rather it feels Writing and I found each other. Being a novelist, is not a clearly defined path, and yet here I am as an independent author trying to navigate my way in this market. Don’t be surprised if you find me in London making notes on an A6 ring bound notebook (the only type of notebook I use), or typing away on my laptop in any outdoor area where I can find a sear, or in one of the many coffee shops I am a regular at.
My debut novel is The Tech-Night 1.0, self-published and released in 2024. Currently I am working on another work of Literary Fiction - The Odyssey of the Vampyre - which I hope will be out in late 2025, so stay tuned, and thank you again for the support!
